Alex Brewer, también conocido como HENSE, es un artista contemporáneo estadounidense, conocido por sus pinturas abstractas dinámicas, vívidas y coloridas, además de un trabajo en el espacio público de dimensiones monumentales. Brewer, originario de Atlanta, U.S.A. comenzó su carrera pintando y escribiendo en las paredes de su ciudad a una edad temprana. Descubrió su amor por crear arte en espacios públicos a través del graffiti en la década de 1990. Ha creado numerosas obras públicas en todo el mundo haciendo uso de una combinación de técnicas aprendidas a través de la escritura de graffiti y el lenguaje formal de la pintura abstracta.

 

Mejor conocido por sus obras en el espacio público, Brewer aplica los mismos procesos y técnicas en su arte público que en sus instalaciones de interior. Brewer emplea una gran cantidad de pensamiento organizando las formas que usa, creando composiciones dramáticas y gestos en su obra. Su uso de colores y patrones únicos, su juego con formas y superficies cambiantes, y sus intensas líneas, son una revisión contemporánea de los maestros posmodernos que trabajaban en el minimalismo y el expresionismo abstracto de mediados del siglo XX.
